Experience, Skills, and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data analysis tools and software.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in process modeling software, statistical analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and a drive for continuous learning and self-improvement.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
General Job Responsibilities:  
  1.  Process Analysis and Improvement:
    •  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
    • Conduct in-depth process assessments, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis to identify opportunities for optimization.
    • Develop and implement action plans to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and improve overall process efficiency.
  2. Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Utilize data-driven insights and performance metrics to assess process performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Design models and gather data to quantify the impact of process changes, providing recommendations based on evidence.
  3. Lean and Six Sigma Implementation:
    • Learn and apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to identify opportunities for standardization, mistake-proofing, and waste reduction throughout the organization.
    • Lead or support Lean and Six Sigma projects, ensuring successful execution and sustainable results.
  4. Project Management:
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute improvement projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and scope.
    • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  5. Change Management and Training:
    • Work closely with teams to facilitate the adoption of new processes and tools, providing necessary training and support.
    • Act as a change agent by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout the organization.
  6. Collaborative Leadership:
    • Collaborate with various departments, including operations, supply chain, and quality assurance, to drive cross-functional initiatives that align with business goals.
    • Act as a mentor, coach, and resource for employees at all levels on continuous improvement methodologies and practices.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Document process changes, best practices, and lessons learned to build a repository of knowledge for future reference.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that communicate project outcomes, improvements achieved, and future recommendations.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
  1. Process Improvement with Multiple Departments
    • Collaborate with the following departments to develop processes and metrics to continually improve specific functions/systems:
      • Distribution – paperwork flow, asset tracking, quality control, SOPs, fleet management, fuel economy, driver KPI’s, preventative maintenance, etc.
      • Production – cylinder and liquid dewar filling, quality control, asset and cryogenic equipment tracking, preventative maintenance, SOPs, laboratory improvements, production cost calculating, etc.
      • Administration – invoicing accuracy and speed, cash flow improvements, return on asset tracking, new supplier searching and existing supplier scoring, etc.
      • Sales – new customer lead database, customer acquisition and retention strategies, new sales lines analysis, inventory turnover, strategic advertising campaigns, etc.
    • Communicate with team members to investigate daily operational areas for improvement
    • Utilize diagrams, data analysis, workflow simulations to clearly find and quantify challenges discussed
    • Create action plans with goals, deadlines, and expectations
    • Create written reports explaining challenges and measures to overcome challenges
    • Perform audits to ensure new measures are being implemented
  2. Upkeep of Fleet Management System, DOT Compliance Documents, Distribution Reports
    • Become familiar with Geotab/Fleetboss software. Continually improve existing distribution reports and search for new reports.
    • Ensure software is working properly: all fleet is accounted for, preventative maintenance calendar is accurate, and that reports are being generated automatically and correctly
    • Upkeep of DOT Compliance documents needed for fleet vehicles and drivers
  3. Create, Improve, Manage, and Present Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Reports
    • Monthly Sales & Inventory Reports
    • Accounts Receivable Reports
    • Driver Performance
